Here Are What Not To Say For People Struggling With Social Anxiety:

1)You are overreacting.

Why it is bad: it is critical and judgmental, and sometimes makes it worse because a person with social anxiety already struggles and overthink a lot, it is also shaming, like something is wrong with them, and they are "out of line", and makes them feel more judged instead of helpful.

2) Just get over it

Why it's bad: This would give them pressure, and it's not something they can change, or just make the anxiety go away.

3) You are ruining the vibes. We don’t want you here.

Why it's bad: Most of the time, social anxiety can be shaming, like something is wrong with them, and sometimes u cannot control it; they feel like they don't belong and feel out of place and "alone" and otherness. 4) Just relax or take a chill pill.

Why its bad: that would make the person feel worst because its not something they can control, and make them even more anxious.

5) “You seem anxious.”
